Former president Donald Trump announced Monday night that he will be turning himself in at Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday after being indicted on 13 charges related to his alleged attempt to overturn the 2020 election.

After the grand jury in Georgia returned a 41-count indictment against Trump and 18 others last week, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis gave the defendants until noon Friday to turn themselves in.

"Can you believe it? I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social on Monday. "She campaigned, and is continuing to campaign, and raise money on, this WITCH HUNT."

Monday also saw Trump's bond set at $200,000, with the consent bond order stating that the former president owes $80,000 for violating Georgia's racketeering law and $10,000 for each of the 12 other charges he faces. The order also prohibits Trump from making "direct or indirect threat[s] of any nature" against any co-defendants, witnesses or victims, including on social media, and from communicating with the other defendants charged in the case except through his attorney.

It will be interesting to see how a Strict Constructionist Supreme Court finds a way to say that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment doesn't apply to Trump.
