While it might not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of epic camping and glamping adventures, it’s not called the garden state for nothing! New Jersey has something for everyone. Whether you like beachside camping or glamping at the lake. Forests, rivers, hiking trails and quaint towns to explore. There’s a little bit of whatever you love in New Jersey! You can’t skip a stone in New Jersey without finding a new and interesting place to go camping or glamping, but there are a few that stand out from the rest.

Stephens State Park, which is right on the Musconetcong River, and is therefore perfect for fishing. There are also picnic tables along the river, and if you’re looking for New Jersey hiking trails, you will find over six miles of it in this wonderful park.

Turkey Swamp Park in Freehold. Don’t let the name fool you. Run by Monmouth County, this park features camping and glamping options, with tenting, trailers, and RVs as well as cabins if you’re that way inclined. There’s a lake with canoes to rent, playgrounds for the kids fishing and more.

If you like your camping wilder and more remote, Round Valley Recreation Area is perfect. In fact, it’s so wild that you can’t park at your camp site at all. Instead, you have to park about three miles away, and hike through the park to get to your campsite.

Beach lovers will enjoy camping in a park like Cheesequake, which is located near the Atlantic, on the edge of both salt and freshwater marshes. Canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and birdwatching are all on offer if you choose to camp here.
