The woods are beautiful, yes, but so is the open water. Boat camping is a beautiful way to experience another side of nature that isn’t always sought after on camping trips. On a boat, you experience nature from a different perspective, see views you wouldn’t otherwise see, and get to cool off on the warmer days. Boating also provides opportunities for specific activities such as fishing and water skiing.

Whippoorwill Woods
Ah, Whippoorwill Woods! A perfect stay for whitewater rafting on the nearby Lehigh River!
This spot located in Pennsylvania is serene to say the very least. Here, you camp among and enjoy the purity of a thick forest. This is forest seclusion at its finest! Not to mention the spot is completely private with no other campsites nearby!
There’s a few special jewels to know about when it comes to Whippoorwill Woods. The queen bed is actually a queen-size BUNK bed. Perfect for families. Also, a 1-hour hike away from camp, campers experience a 360-degree mountain top vista. Finally, note that dogs are allowed, cell service is plentiful, and a shuttle service is provided from your Campkeeper’s home.
A Creek Runs Through It
Also located in Pennsylvania, we have our signature site known as A Creek Runs Through It. Can you guess why it’s named this? Well, let’s just say that upon arrival, guests hear the sounds of a babbling creek. Camp under hemlocks and oaks just a short walk from a picturesque waterfall. Also, minutes away from camp, you have access to white water rafting and kayaking!
Scott is your Campkeeper at A Creek Runs Through It, and he’s always thrilled to share this place with fellow nature enthusiasts. Extras offered by your Campkeeper (for an extra fee) included additional firewood, bedding, and a Rockman 200 Power Station for charging up devices.
Chicot State Park Site F
On down to Louisiana, we have this unique site located on Lake Chicot within Chicot State Park. Site F is a fisherman’s dream; the cool waters of Lake Chicot contain a plethora of bass, crappie, bluegill, and red-ear sunfish. Campers have access to boat launches and boat rental facilities. For those off the water, enjoy hiking the beautiful trail that encircles the lake!
Camp itself is a cozy homebase equipped (as are the rest of these sites) with our Signature Site setup. The State Park itself hosts this spot, and they recommend you bring your own food, firewood, and bedding. Also, to bypass a cleaning fee, be sure to pack out all trash!
Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation: Single Site 3
Single Site 3 is a State Park Site located on Starvation Reservoir in Utah. Starvation Reservoir is sought out for water sports—boating, water skiing, swimming, and sport fishing are all in plenty. Also, for sunbathing and relaxing, enjoy a nice sandy beach on the reservoir.
Your canvas tent at camp is perfectly situated; campers enjoy a spanning view of the reservoir from their tent door. With other amenities like a solar shower, adirondack chairs, and portable camp loo, you’re bound for an incredibly comfortable yet adventurous boat camping experience.
Tideside Tentrr
This is a shoreline campsite located in Midcoast Maine. 4 kayaks, lifejackets, and a rowboat are included on site. Explore the open waters and numerous small islands in this unreal part of the state! Also on offer, is a day trip by ferry to nearby Vinalhaven or North Haven Islands in Penobscot Bay. What a premier way to experience this coastal charm!
The site itself is equipped with our Signature Site set up, making camp an idyllic home-base for relaxing comfortable after all of your activities. Your Campkeeper is Claire, who offers these extras for a fee: extra lodging, lobsters delivered to the shore, and fresh linens.
