Camping in South Toledo Bend State Park can be an enjoyable and educational trip for families, nature lovers, or just people wanting a relaxing vacation. This unique camping location is in the northeastern corner of Louisiana, within the Fort Hancock National Forest. The park has one of the largest tracts of land dedicated to public park in the state. It includes over two miles of designated Lake Toledo Bend State Park, which is northwest of New Orleans. The campground is on land west of Highway 6 and east of Highway 60.

South Toledo Bend State Park offers camping accommodations with two sites; one has ten cabins, and the other has seven cabins plus access to a concession stand. With two sites, the first has twenty-four cabins and the second site has fifteen cabins plus three miles of hiking and biking trails. Both sites are within a short distance to the Lake Toledo Bend campground as well as the parking lot. The campground has direct access to the hiking and biking trails. There are also six miles of white water rapids and the world-class cabin playground.

With over twenty-five miles of hiking and biking trails, camping is available on two sites, which offers a great opportunity to see the park from all angles. For those who want to get out into the woods, the campground has access to the Saw Creek Trail which starts at the fort hut and goes down to the Penobscot River. The trail continues to the entrance of the park and leads to a picnic table and the Lutyens Lake Camping Area. With a total of eight guest sites, the park has enough space for camping that anyone can find their way around.
